Whats rocking? KJ here!
And its time to take a look at the Haier V1 Iron Smart-watch. Is it the budget king Smart-watch at just under 50$? Lets find out! As always lets start with the specs. Powering this up is a MTK 2502C Chipset and a 380 mAH Battery, which lasts around a day or two depending on your usage. It comes with 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of ROM, which may seem small but it is does not have a lot of apps support and the only thing which occupies space are the photos and Audio Recordings. The photos are taken by its inbuilt 0.2 MP Camera. So, a photo is around 5-10 KB. And audio recording are recorded from its average microphone. It has Bluetooth 4 and supports vibration to alert you from notifications pushed from your smartphone. This watch does not support external SD card and Sim Card. Its has a 1.54" 240x240 crisp IPS display corning gorilla glass. Now lets focus on the design. It has a Stainless steel frame with a silicon wristband. But its Stainless steel frame isn't heavy at all. Infact the whole product including the wristband weighs less than 150g. Its dimensions are also average sized watch like( 4.0 x 4.7 x 1.0 cm / 1.57 x 1.85 x 0.39 inches). The silicon wristband is comfortable and doesn't wobble too much. The glass holds against scratches really well(considering that I have used it for more than 5 months and barely notice any scratches). The charging port lid is fastened to the side of the frame by rubber making it flexible and easy to open and close. Well, it is a SMARTWATCH. So, what smart features does it offer?
Everything in this world has its cons. So what is this smartdevice's cons? Low quality camera and waterproofing. The manufacturers claim that the watch is waterproof. But when I was washing my hands I dipped my watch making a few drops of water go into the holes between the function key and the frame making it unusable. So, I had to buy an other one. And just for the record, I dipped the watch in water only because I thought it was waterproof so this incident could be totally avoided. But both of these disadvantages are something I can live with. And now the moment of truth! Is this watch worth the price? Will I recommend it? Is this the budget king Smart Watch? This watch is definitely worth the price! And yes, I will recommend this to anyone looking for a decent smart watch under 50$, if they don't mind the poor camera and the poor waterproofing. And Personally I think this is a budget king! Considering the other watches at this price point don't give that premium feel and looks. Stay tuned to read more tech reviews and news!
